ISEP uses 3D printers to make face shields for healthcare professionals
30-03-2020

ISEP, University of Porto and INEGI are developing and manufacturing, through 3D printing, face shields to protect Portuguese health professionals. The team is also collecting acetates that will be used in this equipment.

This model will be industrialized by a specialized company that is willing to build the mold and start the mass production of the face shields. This new model, more robust and safer, will replace the previous one, produced by these entities, that allowed a quick response to the needs of health workers.

As this process will take a few days to be completed, and considering the urgent need of this equipment in the hospitals, we appeal to anyone who has 3D printers and wants to help, to contact professor Jorge Belinha (job@isep.ipp.pt) who will share all the information about the production of this face shields.
