Through the IISMA (Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards) program, the “Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto” (ISEP) was the choice of 32 students from 19 Indonesian higher education institutions.
The program offers scholarships to Indonesian students so that they can spend a semester in mobility at international universities and higher education institutions, where they can study, get to know the culture of their chosen country and carry out activities to improve their skills.
Muhammad Aldi, one of the students who are attending the Institute, explains that he chose ISEP because it is part of “Portugal's top polytechnic, the ‘Instituto Politécnico do Porto (IPP)’”. “I also checked online reviews and social media, which showed a promising quality of education and support for students. Another key factor was the accessibility of English in Porto. As a non-Portuguese speaker, I appreciate that most people I interact with, both in ISEP and around the city, understand English—this has been incredibly helpful”.
Of the total number of students received by ISEP, 18 attend the “Global ICT” international semester and 14 the “Water Management and Environment” semester.
“My experience at ISEP has been very positive in terms of services and facilities. My favorite spot is the library, closely followed by the well-equipped canteen with affordable options. The professors are truly experts in their fields, as their teaching clearly reflects their advanced degrees", says the student.
By participating in this program, ISEP reaffirms its commitment to internationalization and to promoting a diverse and inclusive environment, enriching the educational experience of its academic community.
“I would highly recommend joining an exchange program. It opens your mind in incredible ways. Studying abroad, including through an exchange program, is profoundly meaningful and absolutely worthwhile”, says Ahmad Aulia Ramadhani, an Indonesian student at ISEP.
To the new students: We warmly welcome you and hope you make ISEP your home!
