ISEP's CHAØS Team takes 12th place in international competition
29-10-2026

The CHAØS Team, a cybersecurity team made up of students from Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto (ISEP), placed 12th in the FortID CTF, a prestigious international competition that brought together more than 600 professional, university and independent teams from around the world over 48 consecutive hours.

The event was organized by the engineers at FortID, a European company that develops secure digital identity solutions aligned with the European Digital Identity framework (EUDI) and that previously organized the TBTL CTF. The competition followed the Jeopardy format, in which teams solve technical challenges to obtain a points-worthy “flag”. In this edition, the challenges were spread across five specific categories: web application vulnerabilities, cryptography, binary reverse engineering, remote program exploitation, and digital forensics.

This performance adds to the 8th place already achieved at upCTF 2026, making for a positive start to the new academic year. The result demonstrates the ability of ISEP students to compete at the highest level in the international cybersecurity landscape.
