The Dean of Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto (ISEP), Professor Roque Brandão, and the Vice-Dean, Professor João Francisco Silva, responsible for the School’s internationalisation, met at the Embassy of Portugal in Luxembourg with the Ambassador of Portugal to Luxembourg, Pedro Sousa e Abreu, and the Coordinator of Portuguese Language Teaching, Mónica Bastos.
The meeting aimed to analyse possibilities for future partnerships between ISEP and Luxembourg institutions, exploring opportunities for cooperation in the areas of teaching and training, namely through the establishment of dual degree agreements.
During the meeting, the potential for the development of engineering in Luxembourg was also discussed, in a context where industry has been gaining momentum but still shows gaps that may represent opportunities for strengthening specialised training and for collaboration between higher education institutions and the business sector.
This visit is part of ISEP’s new internationalisation strategy, aimed at strengthening institutional relations, creating new opportunities for academic cooperation and expanding the School’s international networks.
The approach to Luxembourg thus represents an opportunity to explore new forms of collaboration, promote academic mobility and contribute to the development of engineering skills, strengthening the ties between Portugal and Luxembourg.
