From 26th to 31st August, the FS (Formula Student) team of Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto (ISEP) represented the institution in its first international participation, competing in the 2nd edition of the Formula Student France, which took place on the Transpolis circuit in Saint-Maurice-de-Rémens, on the outskirts of Lyon, France. 

After attending the Formula Student Portugal in July, FS ISEP tested its electrical prototype again in static events, which assess not only technical performance, but also the planning, management and innovation capabilities of the projects developed by the teams. 

During the competition, the team achieved the following rankings in the events: 

• 2nd place in the Engineering Design event – where the engineering decisions behind the prototype’s development were analysed, 
• 3rd place in the Cost & Manufacturing event – which evaluates cost analysis, carbon emissions, manufacturing processes, and the bill of materials, and 
• 2nd place in the Business Plan Presentation event – presentation of a business plan based on the components used in the vehicle. 

The results gave the team 2nd place in the overall final ranking. This is a historic achievement, marking the first time ISEP has reached the podium in an international Formula Student competition.
