Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto (ISEP) is now part of the Aliança Portuguesa (Portuguese Alliance) consortium, recently approved as a new Associate Member of the EU RAIL Joint Undertaking (EU RAIL JU), the leading European partnership for research and innovation in the railway sector. 

With this integration, ISEP becomes part of the restricted core of three Portuguese higher education institutions present in the consortium, highlighting the excellence of the research it has been developing in the field of railway engineering. 

ISEP’s participation will be ensured by the Research & Development Unit GECAD and the R&D groups iBuilt and SoftCPS, in a contribution that highlights the institution’s cross-sectional and multidisciplinary role in the railway sector. 

Joining the Aliança Portuguesa consortium represents an important milestone for ISEP, enabling it to expand its presence in European dimension projects and contribute to developing innovative solutions to make railway transport more sustainable, efficient and safe.
