On March 23, ISEP launched the 16th edition of its European Project Semester (EPS@ISEP). This year, the program brings together 36 international third- and fourth-year students from 13 nationalities and 12 fields of study, supported by a multidisciplinary team of 14 lecturers from seven departments.
Created in 1995 by Professor Arvid Andersen in Denmark, EPS is a one-semester, project-based learning program that currently involves 20 universities across 14 European countries. It was designed to strengthen students’ technical, intercultural, teamwork, and communication skills through multidisciplinary engineering projects with real-world application.
At ISEP, EPS is a 30 ECTS program taught in English. It combines a 20 ECTS project with modules in Team Building and Project Management, Marketing and Communication, Ethics and Professional Practice, Energy and Sustainable Development, and Portuguese. The approach emphasizes collaborative, problem-oriented learning in international teams working with companies, research partners, or societal organizations.
As it marks its 16th anniversary, EPS@ISEP reaffirms, in the Spring 2026 edition, its mission to prepare students with a global outlook to meet the challenges of an increasingly interconnected technological world.
