Abstract

This presentation draws on different concepts and perspectives on Virtual Exchange (VE) and internationalisation of higher education, discussing the potential for converging agendas and objectives. Based on the author’s experience, it argues that VE can be a relevant strategy for universities engaged in internationalisation processes, particularly due to its potential to foster Internationalisation at Home, Internationalisation of the Curriculum, and Global Citizenship Education, with greater Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) in the current global context. In short, the presentation concludes that VE can serve as an internationalisation strategy aligned with JEDI principles, capable of promoting peacebuilding and enhancing the societal relevance of higher education institutions.
